Florence Lafforgue - President and Director of EBICA

Florence Lafforgue Anthropologist also graduate MBA from Hartford University, Connecticut, USA and a license in History of Art. After having lead social anthropological missions in South America, she went on to work for the Cousteau Society. In Paris, she was a consultant in Human Resources working for an international clientele. Founder of a nursery and primary bilingual school in Bordeaux in 1999.

Claude Lelievre - Educational Director

Claude Lelievre has a teaching degree and a CAPES in mathematics from French Universities. He taught for 10 years in secondary education in France and abroad. He has 12 years experience in Montessori Teaching. He has a wide range of experience in different educational methods in both secondary and primary school levels. He has also trained young adults in an associative organization (CIRFA). He holds a certificate for First Aid.

Jayne Pirson - Principal Primary school

Jayne Pirson has a bachelor of French Language and Literature from Oxford University UK and a Post Graduate Certificate Of Education Diploma from Garnett College, London. A teacher for 13 years in State and Private schools both in England and France. She has 7 years of international curriculum experience in an elementary school in California, USA. She has an American First Aid qualification (CPR).

Eve Therrien - Principal Secondary school

Eve Therrien has a Doctorate in French Literature and Theatre from New York University. She has published in American and Canadian academic journals. Her interest in performing arts goes beyond the theoretical, she was a professional artist. In 1990, she became the co-director, of a Theatre school in New Jersey, USA and also taught ballet at Princeton Ballet School. For the last 10 years she has taught language in New York, Paris and Rome.

Heather CUNY - English C1

Heather Cuny has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Institutional Management from Robert Gordon University, UK. She spent 10 years based in Paris working in travel, tourism and international sales. Her teaching career began in 2000, with T.E.F.L. qualification from Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA. Heather has been teaching in language schools in the Alpes Maritimes region for the last 9 years. From 2008-2010, she has been working with Primary school children in French National Education schools. Heather hold a First Aid certificate.

Caroline Cabaillot - C1A & B French

C1A & B French Caroline Cabaillot has a TRUTS diploma in Art, Communication and language from the University of Nice. She was the Cultural Mediator and Conference Manager at the Archeological Museum in Nice and then went on to teach in various private schools in the region. Her experience in teaching has been focused on the Primary years.

Camille Spina - C3 French

Camille Spina has a diploma in Geography and teacher training from the University of Nice. For several years she has been responsible for boarder and day students in a Secondary school in Cannes. She has also taught in both preschool and primary classes in Grasse. She also holds a certificate for First Aid.

   Preschool

Isabelle Chauffour - Preschool French

Isabelle Chauffour has a University degree in Human Sciences . For 10 years she worked in a social and cultural centre, training young adults (Greta-Union Patronale). She has also taught for one year in Africa. She has 5 years experience teaching Montessori and 3 years in the National French education system.

Karine Préau - Preschool English

Karine Préau has American & French origins, spent 16 years in Africa before graduating from the University of Rennes II with a Master’s Degree in technical translation. She worked 4 years in the Silicon Valley in a multilingual international context. She discovered her real vocation upon returning to France: teaching English to young children. 4 years of linguistic teaching experience on the French Riviera while studying for the Certificate of Educational Studies in TESOL accredited by the College of Teachers.

Nathalie Lord - Finance/Administration

Nathalie Lord is Trilingual, fluent in English, French and Italian. She has spent her childhood traveling all over the world, her father being a US Navy Officer. Now settled in France. she has worked for the passed 20 years for major American companies in Human Resources, Training, Recruitment and Marketing.

Beth Spelman - Enrolments & Marketing

Beth Spelman has a diploma in International Marketing and Languages. Fluent in English and French. Lived on and off in France since 1980. Spent 4 years in Miami where she was involved with the Parent’s Club of the French American School. Spent 4 years in the Midi-Pyrenees, where she ran the AngloINFO website with her husband.


   EBICA assistants

Laurenne Dasilva Ferraz - Preschool Apprentice Assistant

Laurenne Dasilva Ferraz is 16 years old, French. She is an apprentice at EBICA, and is currently also studying at the ‘Arcs a la Chambre des Métiers’ in the Var, where she is preparing for her CAP. During her year 3, she has also participated in several workshops, hair dressing, sales, hotel work, beauty therapy and has received a CFG certificate.

Nelita Borges Evora - Preschool assistant

Nelita Borges Evora worked in the restaurant business before joinig EBICA in November 2008. She helps in all aspects of  school life in the preschool section.  She has one child

Corinne Spielmann - Preschool Assistant

Corinne Spielmann worked for 15 years as a secretary in a clinic.  She then studied for her CAP petite enfance and has done several training sessions at schools and nurseries. She has worked at EBICA since 13th November 2008.


   Wednesday workshops

Renaud Moutier - Music, Last Year of Preschool, C1A & B, C2, C3

Renaud Moutier is a pianist with a diploma from the Conservatoires de Lyon, Boulogne-Billancourt and from the ‘Conservatoire Royal de Brussels. Having received first prize, he obtained a Piano teachers diploma. He now teaches piano and music initiation in preschools, primary schools and also regularly performs as a solo pianist.
